As a part of the Christmas edition at Lush, Angel’s Delight soap is only available for a couple of months around Christmas. Luckily, it has been here for a few years now so hopefully it will be available next Christmas too.
Lush’s description of this fruity and sweet soap is:
A fruity slice of heaven: When you’re need of some holiday cheer, ask the angels to help raise your spirits. Our best-selling Angel’s Delight soap returns with the same merry tangerine and orange scent we all love. Inspired by the popular English custard of the same name, our uplifting sudser is just as sweet and fruity as the beloved dessert.
And let’s go on with the review of Lush Angel’s Delight soap:
Product / Quality:
If you go to the Lush store, you’ll see that the Lush Angel’s Delight soap is shaped like a huge golden moon sitting on a pink base. in the center there are chunks of soap in different colors mainly yellow, orange and blue which complement the pink base beautifully. And as an added bonus there is silver and iridescent glitter floating around which makes this soap lovely and festive. If you get this soap in a gift box it is usually shaped like a pink, almost translucent star with silver glitter on top. Angel’s Delight soap is part of many Christmas gift boxes like Snow Fairy Box, Snow Fairy Cone, Stardust (US edition), and Fab Christmas (UK edition).
In terms of quality, it’s a great bar of soap, it lathers up pretty well, especially if you use it with a loofah or a bath sponge and it leaves the skin nice and clean. If you don’t like your skin feeling squeaky clean or if you have very sensitive skin, you might want to use body lotion afterwards, but for a normal or oily skin it works perfectly fine.
Scent:
Angel’s Delight soap has a very nice fruity smell, a bit sweet but not overly so. The first impression of the scent is tutti frutti, but as you continue to smell it, you can really catch those tangerine notes which makes the soap both sweet but fresh in the same time. The best part is that the scent lingers on the skin many hours after you took a bath or shower which is not the case with some other soaps.
So in terms of the scent, this soap can easily turn into your favorite bar of soap. If you like fruity, moderately sweet scents or even if you like citrus fragrances, you’re going to love it.
Price:
For a quality and great smelling soap the price is great $5.95 for 3.5 oz (£3.10 for 100 g in UK). If you use it every day in the shower, this bar will probably last you three to four weeks if not more. For a easier use, you can cut the bar in two or three chunks and use the one by one, just make sure that after every use you store it in a cool and moisture free place so it won’t melt and last you longer.
Organic / Cruelty free:
As we mentioned the last time in the Shimmy Shimmy review, Lush uses fresh organic ingredients and are also known for their cruelty free policy. The ingredients in the Angel’s Delight soap are:
Water, Propylene Glycol, Rapeseed Oil and Coconut Oil, Sodium Stearate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Perfume, Tangerine Oil, Sweet Orange Oil, Titanium Dioxide, Gardenia Extract, Glycerine, Sodium Chloride, EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Sodium Hydroxide, *Limonene, *Linalool, Colour 14700, Colour 17200, Colour 45410, Colour 60725, Colour 15510, Colour 42090, Silver and Golden Edible Stars, Edible Golden Agar Glitter (Agar, Mica Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide), Silver Lustre
Packaging:
This Lush Angel’s Delight soap was also a part of the Snow Fairy gift box, so the packaging was really nice with the pink wrapping paper and the silver ribbon that had a cute bell on it. If you buy it separately you’ll get it in a paper Lush packaging which is also nice.
So if you’re a fan of beautiful hand made soaps, treat yourself this Christmas with an Angel’s Delight. Because of the wonderful smell, you’ll find yourself using it over and over again and it’ll probably become one of your most favorite bars of soap.
