Here’s another soap from Lush that people who like sweet scents absolute love it – Lush Rock Star soap. It’s probably one of the most liked sweet smelling products of Lush. And the color is really nice too, the bubblegum pink really stands out and looks nice. Here’s the description of Lush Rock Star soap:

There’s nothing hard rock or heavy metal about this soap. We’re serious about soap, but not too serious not to love our pink sudser. It’s unabashedly a best-selling pop hit that everyone, boys and girls, can’t wait to get their hands on. While you may object otherwise, once you try our pink, vanilla-scented cream soap you’ll be singing a different tune. Scented with real vanilla (the gorgeous stuff that comes from pods, not labs), and decorated with soap stars embedded inside you’ll want to give Rock Star a regular rotation in the soap dish.

Beauty product review - Lush Rock Star soap

Product / Quality:

Probably the most prominent feature of Lush Rock Star soap (apart from it’s scent) is it’s bubblegum pink color that just lures you to get it and it look really beautiful. If you get it in a gift box you’ll probably get it shaped in a star shape and if you get it from a Lush store then it’ll come in rectangular bar of soap and if you’re lucky it’ll have a star in it (ours didn’t have a star).

For the quality, Lush Rock Star soap is a really nice quality soap, it cleans the skin beautifully, leaving it soft and nice and clean. Because it’s one of the more creamy Lush soaps, it tends to melt a little easier than the harder soaps. It really lathers up nicely but you’ll get the best lather and bubbles if you use Lush Rock Star soap with a bath sponge or a loofah.

Scent:

Here’s the thing, we’ve read a lot of reviews of Lush Rock Star soap on the Lush website and apparently the Lush Rock Star soap should smell really sweet, like a vanilla and bubblegum mixed together. But there are also reviews that it doesn’t smell sweet at all, and ours falls into this category. The difference in scent might be due to either a bad batch of soap or a sense of smell. This bar of soap smells like really clean like a normal bar of soap, it isn’t unpleasant it just isn’t the sweet and bubblegum fragrance that we’ve expected. But either way, the scent is ok.

The funny thing is that the same thing happened with Lush Snowcake soap, so our advise is to go to a Lush store and pick up your bar of soap there. But if you get it online, as a gift or in a gift box then there’s nothing much you can do except go to a store and see if it’s smells the same there. And that’s probably what we’re going to do next time.

Price:

The price of Lush Rock Star soap is similar like many soaps form Lush. It’s $7.95 for 3.5 oz. bar of soap (£3.40 for 100 g, £8.50 for 250 g and £17.00 for 500 g in UK). A tip on how your bar of soap to last longer is to keep your soap in a dry and cold place so it won’t get soft and melt easily. So Lush Rock Star soap is a bit pricey for an everyday bar of soap, but it’s a nice treat to get for time to time.

Review - Lush Rock Star soapOrganic / Cruelty Free:

Lush Cosmetics use natural, fresh and fair trade ingredients in their products, and if you’re an animal lover you’ll be pleased to know that they’re against animal testing and their products are cruelty free. Their products are also handmade which is their signature feature. Here are the ingredients of Lush Rock Star soap:

Water (Aqua) , Propylene Glycol , Rapeseed Oil , Coconut Oil (Brassica napus; Cocos nucifera) , Sodium Lauryl Sulfate , Sodium Stearate , Sodium Hydroxide , Fragrance , Titanium Dioxide , Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla Planifolia) , Glycerine , Sodium Chloride , EDTA , Tetrasodium Editronate , Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone , Red 33

Packaging:

If you get Lush Rock Star soap in a Lush store, you’ll get a block of soap wrapped in a paper Lush packaging. If you get it in a gift box, it’ll probably be star shaped and in a beautifully wrapped box. Lush Rock Star soap is available in couple of gift boxes like Rock Star and Godmother soap stack ($17.95 in US, £8.75 in UK, two 3.5 oz. or 100g bars of soap), Cosmic gift box ($16.95 in US, £9.25 in UK) and depending on the season like Christmas, Valentine’s day etc, it can be available in many other gift boxes.

In summary, Lush Rock Star soap is a nice, creamy (and sweet) bar of soap that will leave your skin soft and silky smooth.
