Christmas is only less than a month away and it’s the time of the year when Lush start to sell their Christmas specials that are available only at Christmastime. As you might know, Snow Fairy shower gel is probably the best selling item ever and people literally stock up on it to have it all year round, but there are many more Lush Christmas limited edition products that are charming and enchanting in their unique way. One of them is the Lush Snowcake soap. Here’s the description:

This shimmering sweet marzipan-scented soap makes for a creamy and comforting Christmas treat. Made with a palm-free soap base, benzoin, soothing rose and uplifting cassie absolutes, this soap creates a rich and luxurious lather.

So here’s the review of Lush Snowcake soap:

Beauty product review - Lush Snowcake soap

Product / Quality:

You probably wonder why the Lush Snowcake soap pictured above is star shaped. The answer is that it was a part of a gift box and soaps that are in gift boxes are sometimes star shaped, but it looks lovely either way. The soap is creamy white with plenty of gold lustre on the top that’ll surely get you in a holiday mood. In the Lush store it is shaped like a big circle with decorative pattern on top sprinkled with gold lustre, so if you buy a chunk from the Lush store, you’ll probably get a rectangular soap with decorative gold top.

It is a really creamy soap, and because it’s so creamy it tend to melt a little faster than other soaps. It lathers well and if you use it with a loofah or a bath sponge it makes a really rich and fluffy foam. It leaves the skin really soft and clean so all in all it’s a great soap. If you want your soap to last longer, here’s a trick: Cut  the soap in couple of pieces, use them one at a time and store the rest in an airtight container away from moisture and heat.

Scent:

Here’s the funny thing about Lush Snowcake soap – it smells differently to different people. Whether it’s the batch of soap or the  sense of smell, Lush Snowcake soap probably smells of sweet almond cookies or really fresh and clean. There are reviews from people who say that their bar of soap smells like sweet almond cookies, but our bar of Lush Snowcake soap smells really clean, not citrusy or zingy, it just has a really pleasant clean scent that grows on you (even though we’ve expected a marzipan scent).

So in summary, you’re either going to love the scent of Lush Snowcake soap or you won’t like it. It’s best to go to a Lush store and actually smell the soap before you buy it, to make sure that you like the smell. Either way, the sent isn’t unpleasant and the more you smell it the more it grows on you and reminds you of Christmas and Lush limited edition products.

If you buy Lush Snowcake soap alone, like all Lush soaps, it comes wrapped in a cute paper packaging. But for the holidays, if you know someone who loves the Snowcake soap and you want to give it as a gift, you can choose from many Lush Christmas gifts that have the soap inside.
