Green tea gargle prevents flu
Can a gargle with green tea to prevent flu? Green tea contains compounds called catechins, which have been shown to be able to prevent infection.
Few Japanese study at the University of Shizuoka shown that people who gargle with green tea three times daily for three months were less likely to become infected with the flu than others.
Larger clinical trials are already underway and include more than 600 teenagers. Young people are elected, because flu is spreading quickly among students.
Researchers have yet to establish exactly how catechins act, but is believed to have a general antiviral effect. Gargle is considered more effective way of dealing with viruses as they are exposed longer to liquid.
